League of Legends (LOL) is a free-to-play MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) developed by Riot Games in 2009. It is now considered the world's most popular esport game. 

In League of Legends, games take place on the Summoner's Rift, a closed arena in which two teams of five players, called "champions", compete to destroy the enemy base, the Nexus. Each player controls a champion with unique abilities, and the aim is to cooperate with his team to overcome enemy defenses and destroy the opposing Nexus.
